About

ScreenDumb is a modern social media company. We are building for the part of life that happens when the phone is down.

Social platforms have spent fifteen years competing for attention, and they have won. The cost is not really the hours. It is that being properly with the people in front of you is now something you have to decide to do.

ScreenDumb is built around that decision. It is social software measured by the time people spend away from it — which is a strange thing to build, and the reason we are building it.

How we think about it

Time counts for a group, not a person. There is no streak to protect and no score to compare, because the moment a number is about you it becomes another thing to check.

Nothing about you leaves your phone, and there are no accounts. A product that asks you to look away has no business watching you.

Who we are

We are college students based out of New York City, studying the attention economy and AI.
